        This unusual and interesting itinerary joins past and present times, history and the comtenporaneity. The tour gives the opportunity to familiarize closer with the life of aborigines - the people whose far ancestry lived in fire-worshippers and Zoroastrism time. Aborigines or “Tribes of Pamir” have kept until now their ancient language – a dialect of Sogdian language, their history, culture, way of life and traditions. They call themselves as “yagnobs” by the name of Yagnob River, flowing along Zarafshan Range of Pamir.

The itinerary consists of 2 parts:
- the first part – trekking along Yagnob River,
- the second part – trekking in Fann Mountains – a country of clear lakes, glaciers, and peaks beyond the clouds (more 5000 m).

BRIEF PROGRAM OF THE TOUR

Day 1 Arrival to Tashkent. Hotel. Free time.
Day 2 Transfer Tashkent - "Oybek" border post - Shakhristan Pass - Khodishar village.
Day 3 Trekking along the gorge of Guzn River to Sharipul settlement.
Day 4 Ascend under Rost Pass. The overnight stay is at the altitude of 3220 m.
Day 5 Crossing of Zarafshan Range via Rost Pass. Dekhkalon settlement. Camp.
Day 6 Descend along the gorge of Yagnob River. The camp is at the altitude 2140 m.
Day 7 Descend along the valley of Yagnob River via old Sogdian settlements: Psken, Naumetkan and Shobita.
Day 8 Descend along Yagnob River to Margib settlement.
Day 9 Fann Mountains. Transfer Margib – Sardoba – "Vertical" alpine camp. Alaudin Lake.
Day 10 One day walking to Mutnoye (Muddy) Lake. Return to the camp at Alaudin Lake.
Day 11 Ascend on Alaudin Pass and descend to Kulikalon Lakes.
Day 12 Walking from Kulikalon Lake via Chukurak Pass to Zimtut settlement.
Day 13 Moving to border post "Oybek and then to Tashkent. Hotel. Rest.
Day 14 Full day excursion to the ancient Samarkand (drive to Samarkand and back to Tashkent by train).
Day 15 Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
Day 1 Arrival to Tashkent. Transfer to the hotel. Free time.
Day 2 After breakfast - Transfer from Tashkent to the Uzbek - Tajik border, the border post "Oybek (1,5 h, 100 km).
Having received all the formalities (customs and border control), tourists are transferred to Tajik trucks. Transfer through Shakhristan pass (3378m) to the picturesque valley of Zarafshan River. During the way tourists make few stops in the most beautiful places for shoots of the mountains and numerous exotic mountain villages.
Night is near Khodishar village (7h; 310km). The camp is on the bank of the river (1370m). The rest and preparing for active track part are in the evening.
Day 3 Breakfast.
The start of the first trekking. This day is acclimatization day that"s why we ascend along the gorge of Guzn River to Sharipul settlement by slow steps (10 km; 4 hrs; +600 m). During the way you can see the beautiful views of Zarafshan Valley and Turkestan Range (10 km; 4 hrs; +600 m).
The camp is on the bank of Guzn River (1970 m).
Day 4 Breakfast.
Not easy steep ascend but on a good path under Rost Pass is compensated by exiting views and also a fine place for the camp near not big mountain lake (12 km; 6 hrs; +1250 m).
The overnight stay is at the altitude of 3220 m.
Day 5 Breakfast.
Today – the crossing of Zarafshan Range via Rost Pass (4020 m). From the pass the impressive panorama is opened at surrounding mountains – snow-covered summits-fivethousanders of Turkestan Range in the north, a huge group of Hissar Mountains – in the south. And again the photo session for memory and descend to the valley of Yagnob River to abandoned Dekhkalon settlement (12 km; 7 hrs, +820 m, -1200 m).
The overnight stay in wild-growing garden, camp (2840 m).
Day 6 Breakfast.
Descend along the gorge of Yagnob River. During the way the stop in Kiriont - the ancient Sogdian settlement. Familiarizing with the way of life of local inhabitants-aborigines. Here is almost natural farming: people grow up the rye, potato, pasture sheep, they make of their wool the clothes, and at times – the shoes. The live keeping their language, history, traditins of their far ancestors – zoroastrians. There isn’t any electricity and hospital in the settlement. (18 km, 5 hrs. -700 m).
The camp is at the altitude (2140 m).
Day 7 Breakfast and we continue to descend along the valley of Yagnob River via old Sogdian settlements: Psken, Naumetkan and a small settlement Shobita. These settlements have existed since the times immemorial and there are some data that they have already been 1000 years ago. The path goes up to 100 m from the river here and again descend to the water there, crossing from one bank to another one along thrown small bridges. The gorge after the junction Yagnob with not big small nameless river, where 200-metered rocks squeeze the river in their laps is impressed. (12 km; 4 hrs; -400 m). The camp is on the bank (1740 m).
Day 8 Breakfast. Today we have a long descend along Yagnob River to Margib settlement. The picturesque settlement is located at the foot of Zamin-Karor – a huge rocky group. Its vertical walls with height more than 1000 m attract masters-rock-climbers here (big wall climbing). Walking along the settlement, visiting national house, familiarizing with the way of life of local inhabitants-aborigines (16 km; 5 hrs; - 300 m).
The overnight stay in local inhabitant’s garden at the altitude of 1440 m.
The ending of the first part of the trek.
Day 9 Breakfast and Fann Mountains.
It is a land of clear lakes, picturesque valleys and peaks beyond the clouds. Transfer Margib – Sardoba – “Vertical” alpine camp. (120 km; 4 hrs).
Having lunch we do not big walking (30 m) to Alaudin lake. We set a camp on not big glade at the lake-shore (2540 m) and we walk along the environing of the lake till the dinner.
Day 10 Breakfast.
One day walking to Mutnoye (Muddy) Lake (8 km; 5-6 hrs; ±800 m). During the day the beautiful panorama of Kaznok, Zamok (5070 m), Energy (5105 m) and Chimtarga (5489 m) Peaks. Severe nature of alpine zone of the mountains, hanging glaciers and steep moraine swells. Rare birches and small lake called Piala due to its round shape are met during the way, gigantic steps of steeping back glacier, polished rocks.
Return to the camp at Alaudin Lake.
Day 11 Ascend on Alaudin Pass (3860 m) and descend to Kulikalon Lakes. (10 km; 6hrs; +1060m;-960m). During the long ascend the beautiful panorama of environing mountains and a view at Alaudin Lakes. On pass’s saddle – the impressive view at Chapdara Peak (5197 m) and the valley of Chapdara River. Far below numerous Kulikalon Lakes of unique color – they will amaze you with their ultramarine water color.
The camp is at the lake-shore of Big Kulikalon Lake (2900 m).
Day 12 Breakfast.
Walking from Kulikalon Lake via Chukurak Pass (3180 m). The colorful panorama is opened from the pass at Ziyorat and Chukurak Lakes. Descend to the lakes and further by traverse via Guitan Pass (2600 m) to Zimtut settlement (+ 300 m; - 1700 m, 7 hrs, 17 km).
Day 13 Moving to the Uzbek - Tajik border, the border post "Oybek (7 hrs, 350 km) and then to Tashkent (1,5h; 100 km).
Accommodation at the hotel. Rest.
Day 14 Full day excursion to the ancient Samarkand (drive to Samarkand and back to Tashkent by train).
Excursion in Samarkand: Registan square - the "heart" of Samarkand - ensemble of 3 majestic medreses (XIV-XVI c.c.) – Sherdor, Ulugbek and Tillya Qory, the grandiose cathedral Bibi-Khanum Mosque (XV c.), Gur-Emir Mausoleum of Timur (Tamerlan), his sons and grandson Ulugbek (XV c.), Tamerlan’s grandson Ulugbek’s the well-known ruler and astronomer-scientist observatory (1420) - the ruins of an immense (30 m. tall) astrolabe for observing stars position, Shakhi-Zinda – “The Living King” (XI-XVIII c.c.) Necropolis of Samarkand rulers and noblemen, consisting of set of superb decorated mausoleums, exotic Siab bazaar.
Transfer to Tashkent (350 km; 4-5 hrs). Accommodation in the hotel.
Day 15 Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Departure.

Terms of the program:

The itinerary doesn’t have the sporting category of difficulty, it is available for all tourists, having good physical condition. The weather is usually stable, warm, sunny during trekking, but it’s possible some precipitation and wind. Day temperature, depending on altitude is from 10oC up to 30oC. Daily walking is 10-17 km, maximum of altitude ~1000 m, maximum height is 4020 m.a.s.l. Tourists’ things are being carrying by pack animals (no more than 12 kg/person) during the trekking. Mountain guide and cook escort the group. Age limits – 18. Children (from 15) can participate in trekking accompanied by parents.

Mountain guide is a leadership of a group and a company plenipotentiary on the itinerary. The guide has a right to change a “string” of the itinerary in connection with weather or other conditions, threatening tourists’ safety.

Group’s assembly: tourists should come to the point of tour beginning on the day of program beginning (at the worst – till 8:00 on the second day). Tourist should make an additional payment in case of early check-in /late check-out (before the date of tour beginning/finishing). "Asia Adventures" will help you to book hotel for this time, meet in airport and offer an additional program. In any case you will be taken by our care and support.

”Asia Adventures” provides the following equipment for trekking: 2-3-seater tents, equipment for food intake and preparing, first-aid set. Every participant should have: rucksack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, warm clothes, comfortable footwear for trekking, running shoes, water- and windproof overcoats, flashlight, protection cream, sun glasses, head-dress (panama, cap, little cap). It’s possible a rent of rucksack, sleeping bags, sleeping pads.

Meals: food is prepared by cook of “Asia Adventures” during the trekking (tourists’ help is appreciated). In cities – breakfasts in hotels, lunches and dinners – are independently (aren’t included in the tour cost).

Documents: it’s necessary to have a foreign passport with the date of expiry no less than 3 months on the date of tour finishing and medical insurance
