This unusual and very interesting route connects the past with the present, the history with today people’s life. It brings us close to the enigmatic period of Zoroastrianism, the times of fire worshipers whose descendants still live in the Pamir highlands. Those last representatives of “Tribes of Pamir” have preserved to present their ancient language - a dialect of Sogdian language,- their history, culture, way of life and traditions. They call themselves “Yagnobians” (after Yabnog River flowing in the Zerafshan Range of Pamir). First half of the two-part’s programme covers trekking along Yagnob River. Second half is about traveling in Fan Mountains - a land of turquoise lakes, clouded peaks and a unique area rich in peaks over 5000m high and glaciers.
